1. Once you become part of
this program you will learn, show and receive respect- anything you do on and
off the field reflects on the school, the coaches, the community, your parents
and most importantly yourself.
2. Training your brain is the most important
thing and thus your grades must be maintained above a 2.5 GPA. Graduating from
high school with a high school diploma is the first step in your journey of
life. Seek help if necessary, you are of no use to us if you cannot make the grade
requirement.
3. Family is the most
important thing a person can have. I will look out for you, you will look out
for me, and we will all look out for each other.
4. Trust is the most
important attribute you will learn on this team and in life. Once you have
broken this bond, life will become difficult.
You learn, earn, and lose it until you eventually get it right.
5. Mistakes will happen, fix
it. Laziness is unacceptable.
6. Be competitive but supportive. Day in, day
out. Losing games is not fun, winning is not fun, what is fun is being able to
show up, play with friends you can trust and love, and walking away feeling
that you have taken the time to learn something from them and about yourself.
7. Perfection is key but be
humble. Master your ability, master your
skills, and master your discipline at the same time teach others what you have
learned.
8. You are part of this team, from the bench to
the field. You exhibit negative attitude to anyone, this is just your
frustration. Get over it, there will always be people better than you. You will
fail at times so work at getting better.
9. You will dress to play. I expect you to come here focused, no
distractions. Check all stress at the
door. I am a good listener.
10. Love. I cannot force you
to play, you play because you love the game. You don’t have this, find it, it
is truly the greatest thing.
11. Integrity means that
people will believe what you do, more than what you say. Show me what you can
do, don’t just say it.
12. If you cannot truly
believe all these requirements, read them again and then ask yourself, will
this really make me a better player and person?
Yes, it will.
